Performance Specialist Internship
Position Type: Full & Part Time (20-40 hours)

Aaron
Runner, PSU, Intern Summer 2009
Goalie, PSU Hockey |
I
have recommended NLP to anyone looking for an
internship. It was hands down the best experience that I could have
gotten. It directly applies to my life goals and anyone looking to
become a fitness instructor or strength & conditioning coach
will discover the same.
The
environment was
professional in every sense of the word but
it was also laid back enough to feel comfortable in my development as
an intern and a professional. I've
applied everything that I have learned. I am ahead of everyone in my
classes because of the things I have learned.
I was able to
get
real coaching experience in a very short
amount of time. I learned how to efficiently manage my time
and my
resources in order to give the athletes and clients a better experience.I
loved being able to take the lead role in coaching. I was a
little nervous at first but it was very rewarding to be able to develop
coaching and efficient client management skills. I also enjoyed
learning the administrative side of the business. |
General Internship Description:
Participants
will
be working with athletes and everyday populations in a controlled group
environment in a 10,000sf performance training center. Our
facility is not a commercial gym.

consistently contribute a minimum of 10-15 hours/week. Hours may be set
up according to program requirements. Generally, interns are required
to work between 120-180 total hours to be accepted into the NLP
internship program.
Each
intern receives:
- Comprehensive training
on
coaching techniques, program administration, and program
design.
- 160-page coaching
manual
- Instructional staff
training
videos on how to perform every aspect of the EADP
Interns leave
knowing
much,
much more
than those who have not been part of NLP. Interns are responsible for
weekly assignments and progressive learning. This is an intense program
meant for those who wish to be the very best strength and conditioning
coaches in the industry. You are expected to pass an
internship
examination based on the Elite Athlete Development Program.
